Woman found alive after being missed in the California mountains for 3 weeks

The 28 -year -old Tiffany Slaton said she always had a love for feed, garden and outdoor adventures.

But their survival instincts and their knowledge of nature were put to the test when they were lost for almost three weeks in the mountains of Fresno, California and was finally found alive on Wednesday.

During a press conference on Friday, Slaton spoke to reporters about her experiences, which began as a three-day solo camping trip and ended as a survival mission.

“Maybe I will never go on vacation for more than three days,” she said on Friday.

Slaton from Jeffersonville, Georgia, was first reported by her parents on April 29, after nothing of her heard from her for nine days, officers said.

At the beginning of her camping trip, she told reporters how she fell from a cliff and was passed out for two hours, which was injured by both legs. Slaton, a trained gardener and “pre -Olympian” in archery, then seemed to open one of her legs and “throw another knee back and in place,” she said.

Due to a recent avalanche, she was unable to return to the main street and was unsuccessful to reach 911 due to the lack of cell service.

So she began her “long tedious journey” of the experiment to return to civilization, to which the fight against animals, the survival of leeks and the cooked snow, the hiking speakers up to 11,000 feet and 13 heavy snow storms suffered.

“Nature is quite scary. As soon as you start finding things that are scary to you, you do your best to move and get over it.” Said Slaton.

Although she started her “vacation” with a tent, two sleeping bags and her bike, she could only hold onto a lighter and a knife most of her trip.

Throughout her time in the wilderness, she kept thinking that she would rather “live than to deal with my parents that I failed in such a stupid way” and that she was decided to be reunited with her family before her birthday, which was on Thursday.

Tiffany Slaton was found alive after three weeks in Fresno, California.

Fresno County Sheriff’s Office

From May 6th to May 10th, the officials carried out and searched for the 28-year-old searched and rescue efforts, the police said. But with a search of almost 600 square miles and since April 24, no confirmed sightings from her, the police said that they decided on Tuesday to trace their efforts.

Then her parents, Bobby and Fredrina Slaton, received a call from none other than her daughter Tiffany on Wednesday and said: “Papa, I live.”

The missing motorhome had driven a snowstorm and found protection in a unlocked hut in a resort near Lake Edison, said officials.

Officials said that the resort of the resort, Christopher Gutierrez, “left a hut as a precaution for this exact situation in which someone who is lost was looking for protection and increasing their chances of surviving the elements outdoors and hard weather”.

When she came across this cabin, Slaton said that she thought she was hallucinating and “managed to make it to the North Pole”.

“When the door opened, I saw the best sleeping bag in the world,” said Slaton.

Gutierrez discovered Slaton when he arrived at the resort to open the place for summer, he said reporters on Wednesday.

“As soon as I saw her, she didn’t say a word, just ran high and everything she wanted was a hug. It was a pretty surreal moment,” said Gutierrez.

Slaton said: “If he hadn’t come that day, they would have found my body there.”

Gutierrez said he knew that there was a missing hiker in the area and called the sheriff’s office to say he found Slaton.

Slaton said Gutierrez: “All she wanted was an peanut butter -jelly -Sandwich.”

The MPs confirmed that the woman was Slaton, who was then examined by doctors and treated according to civil servants for dehydration.

Officials said that Slaton, whom they called “fighter”, was seen about 45 miles from their last.

Slaton, who wore sunglasses during the press conference, said she had experienced eye damage together with a few small cuts and burns due to the snow -covered conditions. She also said that she lost about 10 pounds after being in the wilderness for 20 days, but her blood of blood was “perfect” due to her feed qualities.

Fredrina Slaton said she was “very proud” on the survival of her daughter, but “will be proud if she gets a GPS”.

Tiffany Slaton will return to Georgia with her family while she will continue to recover. She said she paid the entire adventure and plans to go through this documentary while adapting to reality again.
