Oklahoma Football vs. Alabama Predictions

The Oklahoman: Alabama 28, Oklahoma 14

Justin Martinez writes: Oklahoma could make this a pretty interesting game. It has a good run defense that can cause problems for Jalen Milroe and Alabama’s one-dimensional offense. The Crimson Tide’s defense also ranks just 13th in the SEC in sacks this season (21), which is good news for OU’s struggling offensive line. Still, I can’t bring myself to predict more than two touchdowns for Jackson Arnold and OU’s offense. That won’t be enough to cause any excitement.

Will Helms writes: “Oklahoma will likely focus entirely on Milroe, which should free up space in the run and screen games. Even if Alabama gets off to a slow start, this Oklahoma offense can’t produce consistent offense. However, I think the Sooners’ defense can play a really good game to keep Alabama somewhat at bay. However, it won’t be nearly enough for an overall victory.

Pete Fiutak writes: “Just a little offensive explosion from Alabama will be enough to get this done. There will be a lively crowd for this epic clash of historic powerhouses, and Oklahoma will be up to the task in the first half. The defense will hang in there to keep the game alive by getting to Milroe and stopping him from taking off. But here too, the offensive team will be the disappointment. Two big Tide plays in the second half will be too much to overcome.
