Who are the announcers for Alabama football vs. Auburn in the Iron Bowl?

Alabama football limps into the Iron Bowl matchup against Auburn on Saturday afternoon after suffering a disappointing loss to Oklahoma last week. The loss to the Sooners ended the Crimson Tide’s chances of winning another SEC championship and made it unlikely that Alabama would make it into the top 12 College Football Playoff, a fact that seemed almost unimaginable after defeating Georgia in late September .

Auburn comes to the Iron Bowl looking to secure bowl eligibility and finish the regular season with a two-game winning streak and back-to-back victories over ranked opponents.

The 89th Iron Bowl begins at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC. It will be the sixth time this season that Alabama will play a game on ABC. The Tide last played in last week’s three-touchdown loss to Oklahoma on ABC.

Guests will be veteran presenter Sean McDonough, who will provide play-by-play. McDonough is well respected in the industry and is considered by many to be the best play-by-play man in college football.

Joining him in the booth will be former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy as a color analyst. McElroy’s inclusion has drawn the ire of Auburn fans, who frustratingly expect him to have a bias against the Crimson Tide.

Funnily enough, most Alabama fans criticize McElroy for working too hard to avoid bias toward his alma mater and, in turn, being too critical of the Crimson Tide.

McElroy started two Iron Bowls during his time in Tuscaloosa. He led Alabama to a come-from-behind victory with a game-winning touchdown pass to Roy Upchurch in 2009 at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The following year, McElroy started in the infamous 2010 Iron Bowl, where Alabama gave Cam Newton and the Auburn Tigers a 24-0 lead.

That also happened to be the last time Auburn won in Tuscaloosa.

Molly McGrath will be the sideline reporter, as she often does with McDonough and McElroy.

This is the second time this trio has played a game together at Alabama this season. They were in action on the third Saturday in October when Alabama lost to Tennessee in Knoxville.

Hopefully this game ends better than this one for Alabama.
