Tubi Greenlights Ya films with Xochitl Gomez, Chase Hudson & Asher Angel

Tubi has Greenlit three new YA films with Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness), Chase Hudson (Fall up) Aka Huddy and Asher Angel (Shazam! Anger of the gods), the company announced today.

Gomez leads BeehiveA real time, socially conscious horror thrillers about a strict, anxious teenager who loses the child, which she babysits and hides a dark strength that hides in sight among the children on the playground. When her world unfolds and her grip to slip the reality, she has to outsmart a world in which nothing is as it seems to make it alive. Felipe Vargas wrote and headed the same name. Blue Ice Pictures will produce next to Nick Scully, Adam Friedlander and Darren Cameron, with Lance Samuels and Samantha Levine Exec.

Hudson leads How to lose a popularity competitionBased on the 2024 Love List script by Kaitlin Reilly and Dorian Keyes. The film was written by Rebecca Webb and follows directly-a high-flyer Sean (Angel) when he makes a deal to the Tutor Wild Child Flora in exchange for a college recommendation letter to his dream school. But when sparks fly, school is the slightest of its problems. The film is produced by David Madden, Jason Goldberg and Aron Levitz by Wattpad Webtoon Studios. Angel produces alongside Blue Ice Pictures’ Lance Samuels and Samantha Levine.

The news of Tubi’s new YA Originals was announced during the company’s output presentation on Monday, where it set its full slate for 2025-2026.
