Tomato reminder Sparks Salmonella Warning to the customers

A production company based in South Carolina has initiated a recall of some of its popular tomato products.

Williams Farms Repack LLC has to be traced back to several sizes of tomatoes under the Williams Farms Repack label and the H&C Farms label via a possible salmonella contamination.

Newsweek On Saturday, a representative of Williams Farms Repack LLC was used for a comment by phone outside of normal business hours.

Why is it important

Salmonella infections, generally referred to as salmonellosis, can lead to symptoms within about 6 hours to 6 days. These symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting as well as fever, chills and dehydration. In most cases, the symptoms last 4 to 7 days, but can remain longer if complications occur.

While the majority of salmonella infections are mild and dissolved for themselves, according to FDA, they can represent serious health risks, especially for endangered groups such as infants, older people, pregnant women and people with a weakened immune system.
