The way to greater peace in the Middle East is clear

The Abraham Agreement, which was mediated by President Trump in 2020, opened the door to groundbreaking economic innovations and security cooperation between the USA and its Israeli and Arabician allies of the Middle East. The agreements even survived the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7, 2023, which shows that the strengthening of this new paradigm of peace for American national security is far more critical than the solution to the Palestinian problem.

President Trump’s return to the White House has created a unique opportunity to deepen and expand the circle of peace and cooperation. The United States and its regional partners have to come together and make a common future of mutual security, economic growth and global technological leadership.

As a former high -ranking official of the first Trump government, we supported the establishment of the connections between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan. However, the potential of Abraham Agreement goes far beyond the level of bilateral relationships. Improved regional integration under American leadership opens up the possibility of multilateral initiatives with global consequences.

>>> The clock ticks for the armament to ensure peace

An important example is the India -Middle East -Europe Corridor (IMEC). These efforts would lead to a trading route that was stretched west from India to Europe and the transit time for important goods such as pharmaceuticals and electronics shorten by 40–50 percent compared to sea paths. Such a corridor would promote coordination between US allies such as the VAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel. Sporn massive infrastructure projects that could benefit the US company; And serve as an alternative to trade routes dominated by China, Iran and Russia.

The revival of the American leadership in the International Arena must ensure that the United States are at the top of the state -of -the -art technologies. Important Abraham Agreement Partners such as Israel and the United Arab Emirates have made careful progress in areas such as AI and new space and functions for our new privacy era. New three-way innovation partnerships between the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Israel can be found on milestones such as the opening of an AI research center based in Israel by the Technology Innovation Institute in Abu Dhabi and Emirati engagement of $ 1.4 trillion in the American AI, Semiconductor and Energy sectors in March 2025 in March Build 2025.

The multilateral American cooperation with Abraham Accords Partners can also play an important role in saving life and promoting sustainable growth in developing countries. For example, joint projects in which the USA, Morocco and Israel are involved in Sudan can help to restore the food and water security, which was returned to the western orbit by the war.

The cooperation with the current and future Abraham Agreement can also serve the US security interests in the Middle East. By enabling the allies to work together, the United States can protect its regional interests and at the same time free military assets for other theaters. Such improved military cooperation could take place in a wide range of fields, including air and rocket defense, space and satellites, maritime, home and cyber security, counter-drone technologies, exchange of intelligence, joint exercises as well as research and development.

>>> Trump and Netanyahu have historical opportunity to promote peace in the Middle East

President Trump made four peace agreements between Israel and his neighbors within four months. Unfortunately, President Biden was able to add new countries to the Abraham Agreement in his four years. But we hope that the prospects for peace are now brighter. The United States should now use its strong international partnerships and its leverage against broker agreements between Israel and numerous Arab and Muslim states in Africa and Asia.

Sustainable regional stability also require the fight against radical actors who are devoted to the lower limit of progress in the direction of peace. This includes the Ayatollah regime in Tehran. This regime not only continues the ability to do nuclear weapons, but also to develop its ballistic rocket program, strengthen its terrorist proxy network, undermine regional governments and carry out terrorist attacks worldwide.

A practical approach to the Iranian challenge must cope with the entire selection of threats that Tehran raised. These radical actors also include Sunni terrorist groups like Hamas. There must be new solutions for gaza strips in accordance with the vision of President Trump in order to avoid the repeated rounds of attack on Israel. Further attacks are an obvious obstacle to peace.

At the Heritage Foundation, which is now the proud home of the Abraham Accord Peace Institute, we endeavor to work with everyone involved in the USA, the Middle East and around the world. Our goal is to exploit the full potential of the original agreements. Now the time for brave strategies, new paradigms and brave initiatives. They will strengthen important US interests and alliances and shape a new reality of peace and prosperity in the Middle East.
