The Riviera Beach Pediatrics Unit gives Gary Player’s foundation 150,000 US dollars, which is named in honor of him

Riviera Beach, Fla. (CBS12) – The Golf icon Gary Player presented a check of 150,000 US dollars for the almost closed Foundcare Riviera Beach Health Center on behalf of the Gary and Vivienne Player Foundation on Monday.

The donation is the continuing commitment of the Foundation for the Health of the Community, and according to a press release, its generosity is honored by naming the pediatric unit of Foundcare according to the player and his foundation.

“The most important thing is that all of our pediatric wings are named after Gary Player and its basis for the support that they give us,” said Christopher Irizarry, Chief Executive Officer from Foundcare.

The new Riviera Beach facility, which is to be opened on June 16, offers a wide range of services, including adult medicine, pediatrics, health of women, dentistry, psychiatry and a pharmacy on site.

According to Irizzary, the company applied for funds and required about $ 150,000, which the foundation offered.

“I come to the golf course and I’m like a lion. I’m so violent,” said player. “But when I descend from the golf course, I am a crybaby like my big hero Winston Churchill. It only gives me a pleasure to see after I fought as I did, I have experienced it. And when you experience it, you know what it’s like.”

According to officials, 30% of the population of Foundcare under the age of 18, which makes the donation a significant contribution to the pediatric care of children in under -sufficient communities.
