The district’s new e-vehicle regulation was unanimously adopted on Tuesday morning.

What changes:

  • The Ordinance defines e-bikes and e-scooters that were previously not defined in the County Code
  • It prohibits e-motorcycles in County Parks. E-motorcycles are missing pedals and have engines

The regulation adopted on Tuesday reflects changes that were made because it was originally introduced in mid -April. In particular, class 2 and class 3 e-bikes are no longer prohibited in County Parks, their speed is only limited.

This happens after the enthusiastic e-bike driver James Zachman spoke to the district commissioners about his concerns about the overall faster e-bike in County Park.

He says he relies on using his class 2 e-bike in County Parks to continue safely, and he is happy to hear that he will be legally able to be legally able.

“I am glad that you took my comments into account,” says Zachman. “I can see what you have changed here that your employees have definitely done some homework.”

In terms of enforcement, Commissioner Justin Jones says that clear signage and education will come first.

“Then of course our law enforcement companies are lying to ensure that they have talks with people first and then start enforcement,” says Jones.

Jones says when children under the age of 18 are given quotes, the parents are responsible for paying the invoice.

The Metro police can be reported to a ruthless horseback on telephone number 311 or by online submission of a report.
