You may have noticed this Kate Moss or Michael B. Jordan ads for David Yurman -Schmuck in Dallas. Perhaps you are familiar with the Glass Cases at Neiman Marcus or high-end boutiques in Northpark and Legacy West, because these glittering works of art easily desire, alternately reserved and show stopping. What you may not know is that two people are hidden in the brand name. The sculptor David Yurman met his wife Sybil in 1969, a painter, and together they built a legacy, which also includes their son Evan, President and Chief Creative Officer of the brand.

Sybil: Dallas is something special for us. Everyone here is ready to try new things, new fashion and create new opportunities.

David: Dallas was perhaps the first to hug our jewelry collections in a large way. We always have fun in Dallas.

Dallas is big on jewelry. What makes a city a good market for your work? Is it just prosperity or another characteristic?

David: Solid family values, the willingness to be open to ideas and women who like to dress.

Sybil: It is not just prosperity. We wanted to provide luxury jewelry for many.

They are married, but they also have a business partnership. That is a lot of time together. What is the secret?

Sybil: We are both curious about each other, about art and life, music and travel, people, relationships, the world in general. We like to talk to each other and we love to dance. We also share a language of art and design.

Who is often right, Sybil or David?

David: We have the saying: “It is better, friendly than being right.” We also learn from each other when we work together. There is nothing better than working together and getting both. Apart from that, Sybil is always right.
