The driver strikes Pole in Westbrook and strikes the power supply

A driver was hospitalized after the beating of a power supply rod in Westbrook with minor injuries. Power has been restored since then and the cause remains examined.

Westbrook, Maine – A driver suffered from minor injuries on Monday afternoon after a crash in Westbrook, which briefly disturbed the power on the north side of the river, including several important intersections.

Steve Sloan, fire chief of Westbrook, said the crash concerned a single vehicle that had hit a telephone mast. As a precaution, the driver was taken to the hospital.

The crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. in the Brown Street and affected intersections from Cumberland Street through the Bridge Street, according to the Westbrook police.

Traffic lights were on the move in the area, and the police instructed the drivers to proceed with caution and treat affected intersections during four-way stops.

Central Maine Power Crews worked to restore the service. From 5:15 p.m. CMP did not report any ongoing failures in Westbrook.

Officials have not yet released the cause of the crash or said whether the driver receives charges.
