The basketball of the ACC men, which offers an 18-game conference plan from 2025-26

Charlotte, NC (reaacc.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced that the men’s basketball teams will play a schedule for the 18 games from the 2025-26 season. The ACC has carried out 20 game conference plans since the 2019-20 season and most recently played 18-game schedule from 2012-13 to 2018-19.

The decision to return to a schedule for the conference with 18 games takes place after a continued strategic evaluation in which the conference office has worked together with athletics directors, trainers, external consultants and television partners. This included cooperation with several experts to carry out statistical analyzes in order to examine the basketball product, the metrics and the planning of the conference.

The ACC has pursued a clear and deliberate approach to improving the basketball of men and applied a comprehensive 360-degree focus on sport. In addition to planning, the league continues to work closely with its member institutions and has strengthened their marketing and branding efforts – including the extended reporting by ACC network programs – to emphasize players, trainers and programs. Last season, the implementation of success incentives began to financially reward those who invest and have success in basketball, while the incentives for the audience are planned in 2025-26.

“As a league, we were transparent about the importance of the ACC men’s basketball and in particular our commitment to ensure that it is best positioned for the future,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “The move to a conference plan of 18 games is a direct result of our ongoing strategic review and analysis and offers our schools a better balance between non-conference and conference games, whereby they also enable them to be more autonomy in the planning process. This decision reflects our continuous prioritization of the prioritization of the ACC-Mens for ACC-Männer-Basketball and we appreciate the thinking of our members and support of our television. The support of our television partners. “

The 18-game time plan shows teams that start at the end of December and end on the first Saturday in March. Each team plays both a primary partner at home and for a variable partner at home and outside. The variable partner is determined every season. The teams play a game every year, home or away against 14 of the remaining 15 teams.
