The AP exam of the Davis High School, which is interrupted by fire alarm, must be recaptured

Kayseville – More than 200 students from the Davis High School were of the opinion that on Monday they had almost been completed when a fire alarm sounded.

With just 30 minutes before the almost four -hour test, the penetrating sound of the alarm evacuated the entire school and meant that all 200 tests were declared invalid.

“We were all so concentrated when this alarm went out. We jumped up and were all afraid and looked around. The responsible proctors said: ‘Ok, we’ll go outside.’ We got up for 30 minutes and when we came in, the test was carried out and they said: “Well, it was invalid,” said Davis Senior Luke Cadwallader.

At first the seniors were too stunned to react. They didn’t understand what had just happened.

“After that we were all very frustrated. I was very crazy. A few people started crying. It was just like this:” What are you doing? “, He said.

The perpetrator was a balloon.

“The cause of the alarm was due to a balloon that affects the connection of a beam detector,” said Chris Williams, a spokesman for Davis School District. He didn’t work on where the balloon came from.

The electronic systems are “quite sensitive,” said Williams. According to state law, however, everyone must be evacuated if a fire alarm fails. The high school contacted the Advanced Placement College Board to determine make -up tests.

The students were told that they could hand in their tests on one of the completion they have achieved on one of two make -up days. The first make -up day is May 22nd at 12:00 p.m., which is located during the school graduation ceremony or on May 28th.

“What hurt that this decision for the 28th in the city would be outside the city. Everyone has their journey of senior citizens or their family vacation, and who wants to take it during the end?” he said.

Of the 205 students who took the exam, 165 seniors were. Now you have to choose between the risk of a lower score, the lack of conclusion or further study for a test after completion and possibly missing summer activities.

The school said that she would try to plan a special ceremony for students who would like to repeat the test that day, but disappointment is predominant. Most people who spoke hatch have decided that they simply risk and submit it to what they’re done.

“With 10% to 15% of the test, and this is a fairly important part of this test, I decided that I will not risk it. I’ll just take it on the 28th. Yes, I have to study, but maybe I have more time to study,” said Luke.

The calculation test was Luke’s fourth and final AP test.

“However, the funny part was that this was my fourth … and it is unhappy. It was the last one. I thought I was free, but apparently not,” he joked.
