Sundance draws two award winners from the online festival after piracy

“Twinless” is a comedic drama with the actor Dylan O’Brien with the “Mazerunner”. The film follows two young men who meet in an auxiliary group for two mourners and confronted topics with loss, loneliness and code donation.

The film Dramatic section in the USA won the audience and the special jury prize for the actress on Friday.

After scenes from the film were leaked online, Sundance removed the selection on Saturday from his online ad platform.

“The film” Twinless “was a victim of a copyright infringement on various social media statements Saturday.

Online ticket holders can no longer access the film. Sundance reports that every single ticket holder who had not yet seen the film has received a voucher that chooses another film on the screen.

“We recognize and regret the disappointment that can cause this. However, part of our commitment to independent filmmakers is to ensure that they can protect the art they created – now and in the future, ”the explanation says. “We take copyright infringement extremely seriously and intend to work completely with local, state and federal law enforcement authorities in all questions of piracy.”

The other films that are already available for the audience on the online screening platform from Sundance from Sundance to the end of the festival on Sunday.

“Twinless” was not the only film away. A documentary about the late Selena Quintanilla, known for Tejano music, was also removed. “Selena y Los Dinos”, who won a documentary film special prize for archived counting at the festival, was also pulled for piracy.
