Stephen A. Smith agrees with a new ESPN contract worth 100 million US dollars, says Quelle

Stephen A. Smith has become an integral part of ESPN’s air waves, and that will not change soon.

Smith, a former newspaper Beat Reporter, who has been famous for Pioneer of Art of the Sports Debattenhow, approved ESPN in a new five-year contract over $ 100 million, a person who has confirmed CNBC with the matter.

The deal was first registered by the athletic.

“I am happy and an honor to remain a member of the Disney/ESPN family, at least in the next five years,” said Smith in a statement on Friday.

As one of the best known and most commonly used on-air talents of the network, Smith has a far-reaching influence and a comprehensive scope to prevent a variety of topics, including the NBA as part of the Pregame show from ESPN.

“Stephen A. works incredibly hard to increase the sports discussion every day, and we are grateful that he will stay with ESPN,” said Jimmy Pitaro, chairman of ESPN. “It is a difference and the fans are fascinated by his deep sports knowledge, his strong opinions and unmistakable flair.”

Smith will continue to appear in “First Take”, the Morning Debate Show, but according to The Athletic it will no longer be a figurehead of the NBA PREGAME show and can also school back other ESPN appearances.

In an explanation, ESPN said that Smith will appear in other programs next to “first” but would not go into details.

This could mean Smith more opportunities not to appear on ESPN in shows and to discuss topics even more frequently. In recent years, Smith has regularly expanded its scope to politics in his own show and even performed in Fox News. It was floated as a possible presidential candidate in 2028.

He played down the proposal in NBC’s “The Tonight Show” on Wednesday.

“I’m saying a minute now, I don’t want to,” said Smith, Host Jimmy Fallon. “But I have to say the fact that they talk about me like this.
