St. Loui’s forecast: waves of showers, thunderstorms this week

With waves of showers and storms in the next few days, the WEAT -Impact alarm days were extended in St. Louis until Thursday.

St. Louis – The active weather pattern continues in Missouri and Illinois until Thursday. Waves of showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be strong, perhaps serious, will move through our region. While the general storm threat is limited, some storms could contain some hail and gusty winds.


The rain has moved through the area this morning, with a wide range of showers and thunderstorms in the region. Nothing is expected that nothing is serious, but that may not be the case today.

The storm Prediction Center’s storm threats for Wednesday to Thursday are higher in other parts of the country. The 5 -On -Side Weather Impact team later believes near Fronten in our area

Today, at least a few strong to heavy thunderstorms can be the focus of the evening.


We were upgraded to a “minor” risk for storms this morning, as we prepare for the potential for short, weak tornados.


The Tornado threat actually increased this morning. Since we have continued to monitor the threat to storm today, the warm front lifting in the north can give us an opportunity for a few short, weak tornados.


While this warm front rises north, some isolated and scattered storms develop. Between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. there is a threat that some rotating storms develop.

In addition, the soil is quite saturated, so that additional strong rainfall can cause some drainage problems or flood problems if the precipitation intensity is higher.


With the rain that fell on Tuesday, St. Louis has seen 9.85 “rain” so far in April. The fourthfold April in the shadows set a record of 9.54 “rain in the last 1944. The third nickel was in 1994 when 10.32” rain fell. The second place is 10.37 “and the most new April, which fell in 1893 when 10.84” rain.
