Township officers published details this week about how the implosion is observed live on the Internet and which streets are closed.

The hotel, which was seen from Route 17 near the border between New Jersey/New York, was known for its shiny glass windows. It was also the place of weddings, dances and other events.

It finally closed its doors in December 2023. The developers planned to build two warehouses on the website, but say that they are now considering other purposes. Read more: Readers react to Sheraton CrossRoads Closing

When to see?

City officials said that the hotel would probably fall on Saturday around 7:30 a.m., although time could change.

This is a serious building event that includes the implosion of a multi -storey building, “they said.” The location and the event will be made by the state of New Jersey Dept. Of Labor, a very experienced implosion entrepreneur, the developer’s general contractor, the New Jersey State Police, the Mahwah police, the Mahwah police, Mahwah and another staff in the community.

At a council meeting last month, the officials answered questions about road closures, dust and much more. Read about it here.

The city said that on Saturday morning:

  • The property of CrossRoads/Sheraton is closed for all non -loan employees. Do not try to enter the site from Route 17, the Mountainide Ave, the Jaguar Land Rover outcome or via the Ramapo River. They are removed from the security on site and/or the police.
  • On the day of the event, ownership remains closed to all non -pronounced employees. Don’t try to get out of one direction via automobiles, ATV or on foot.

Road closures

The city said that on Saturday until the all-Clear signal is administered after the immosion, parts of the StAG Hill Road and other local roads are closed to vehicle traffic. These include: First Street, Meadow Avenue in the State Street, the Long Avenue, the Johnson Avenue, the Catherine Avenue, the Brook Street, the Strysko Avenue, the Sustack Place and South Street.

The state police will patrol on the local highways from 5 a.m.

Nobody is allowed to park 17 or 287 before the implosion on the shoulders of the routes (for about 7:30 a.m. before the implosion). You will ask someone who is parked to move and drag in May.

The state police are slowed down about 15 to a few minutes before the implosion and then completely stopped all vehicle traffic near the Sheraton location. The traffic is stopped until the implosion director has given the “all clear” signal.

“This could be between 5 and 15 minutes after the event,” they said.
