There could be major upheavals at the 2025 Met Gala. Rihanna, one of the event’s most influential figures, is reportedly working to get Kendall Jenner and the Kardashian-Jenner clan off the guest list. The legendary singer, fashion mogul and now mother of two with her longtime partner A$AP Rocky is reportedly using her significant influence, amplified by Rocky’s role on the Met Gala planning committee, to orchestrate this move.
According to RadarOnline.com, Rihanna’s strained relationship with the Kardashians dates back years, particularly during Kim Kardashian’s wedding to Kanye West. Kim’s attempts to develop a friendship with Rihanna were reportedly met with resistance. However, tensions with Kendall Jenner are said to go even deeper. The bad blood began in 2014 when Kendall was linked to Chris Brown, Rihanna’s ex, whose attack on her in 2009 remains a painful chapter. Kendall publicly supported Brown at the time, a move that reportedly increased Rihanna’s displeasure.
Things got worse in 2017 when Kendall briefly dated A$AP Rocky. While Rihanna and Rocky were just friends at the time, their sense of territoriality is said to have fueled the feud. Now that Rihanna and Rocky have a family together and a stronger influence on the inner workings of the Met Gala, reports suggest she’s taking the chance to settle old scores. Rihanna’s significant role in shaping the guest list alongside Vogue editor Anna Wintour could mean the Kardashian-Jenner family’s streak as Met Gala regulars could come to an end in 2025.
