Red Sox acquire the first basic aid in the trade from the NOW-HERE

The Boston Red Sox finally added a little depth on the first basis on Thursday.

Boston acquired the first Baseman/Outfield Ryan Noda from the Los Angeles Angels in return for cash considerations before he had an impact in Triple-A Worcester. Masataka Yoshida was transferred to the 60-day injury list by the 10-day injured list, the team said.

The 29-year-old Noda appeared in the last two seasons with the athletics at the time, started 130 games on the first basis and, with 26 doubles, 17 home runs and 58 RBIs from the left side of the plate .212/.344/. Noda played in 38 games for Triple-A Salt Lake and hit this season.

The 31 -year -old Yoshida was originally put on the shelf due to a shoulder operation outside of the season.

The Red Sox tried to find a full -time option at the first basis, since Triston Casas went down with an injury on May 2. Romy González, Nick Sogard and Abraham Toro have all replaced with replacing him, although things have become bad enough that Rookie Kristian Campbell worked before the games before the games.
