A Nintendo Switch 2 Port of Red Dead Erlatment 2 Could be released by the end of 2025, and there are reports of an upgrade of the next generation for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.

This is after GameraktorThe sources “near Rockstar” reports that a Switch 2 version of Rockstars Wild West Romp is on the way, together with a “upgrade patch of the next generation” that improves the game for current systems (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S).

Although the details are sketchy, the sources of gameractor claim the port and the upgrade patch could be canceled later this year.

It reflects similar claims that were raised by Nintenduoin which the Switch 2 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 should be released in the current financial year of Take-Two, which ends on March 31, 2026. It is unclear whether the port is only published digitally or sold as a physical edition.

We considered Red Dead Redemption 2 as “masterpiece” when it was released in 2018 and gave him a 10/10. Igns Red Dead Redemption 2 Review said: “Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game of rare quality; an open OD-OD-ODE to the Outlaw era.”

Maybe Red Dead Redemption 2 to Switch 2 would not be a big surprise. In a questions and answers with investors about the latest finance results from Take-Two, CEO Strauss Zelnick answered a question to support The Switch 2 publisher by saying that he felt “great optimism” for Nintendo’s new platform. In fact, he said Nintendo’s support for publishers of third -party providers was better this time than in the past.

“We start four titles with Nintendo Switch 2, and in my opinion that is a larger selection of publications than ever with a new Nintendo platform,” he said. “In the past, it was a bit difficult to be a third in the Nintendo business. I think Nintendo belonged very much. And we also appear because we have great optimism for the platform for the platform. In terms of what we put on a platform, we have addressed it to a case-case basis.

In particular, Take-Two Civilization 7 (June 5, starting day), the NBA 2K and WWE 2K series (unclear, which games or when) and Borderlands 4 (September 12). Admittedly, these are not surprising inclusions, since Take-Two has already published all four franchise companies at the Nintendo Switch. But Zelnick’s quote makes it sound as if the door could be open to other publications in the future, especially from the back catalog of Take-Two. GTA 6 will probably not make the cut, but maybe GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2?
