Raya about Alissons 1V1 technology: I don’t know how he does it, he saves everything

Arsenal’s goalkeeper, David Raya, was asked to call the best in the world in his position, and admitted that he is often in awe in Liverpool Alisson Becker.

The Spanish shooting stopper was incredible for the Gunners this season and is often named next to some of the best goalkeepers in the world. Before the Nord-London’s sides collected with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final, Raya spoke to Ben Foster at Amazon Prime and was asked to name the best in the world in his position.

Alisson. Obviously Alisson, Courtois. I like Kobel from Borussia (Dortmund) very, very, very.

“I think Alisson is just … one against one, he saves everything. I don’t know how he does it, he saves everyone to one.”

The 32-year-old kept nine Premier League Clean Sheets this season, and the fight for the golden glove seemed to be between him and Raya, who has 12 and Nottingham Forests Matz Sels, who is the lead at 13.

“Yes, of course you have to be open to see how he can be so good in one counterpart what he is doing.

“And it is strange because he is always so close to the ball when you sometimes don’t have the time to approach the ball, and you have to adjust and react.

“He reads these situations so well where he may (an opponent) have the passport or he drives the ball and then the last touch is a bit difficult – so he is up there.

“The way he reads things is incredible in these situations. He has been one of the top goalkeepers in the world and the quality he has for so many years.

“These are the things that give you the additional advantage to save you against you.”

Injuries have limited Alisson to just 32 of the 53 games of the Reds this season, but he should be suitable for the collision of this weekend against the Gunner, in which both goalkeepers will probably speak according to Raya’s friendly words.
