The former Rangers striker and Sky Sports expert Kris Boyd claim that the club clearly did not decide to the next manager, but suggests that Steven Gerrard would be a good option.

Speak to Sky Sports Newsformer Rangers striker Kris Boyd said:

“Rangers have to get someone who understands it gets it, can deal with the pressure and the requirements” Sky Sports News.

“Steven has shown that he can do this in Glasgow for three years. He can handle it, he has had it all his life.

“That there are many coaches and managers who are afraid to take on the Rangers job because of the pressure and the requirements that are associated with the job.

“You need someone who can handle the pressure every day, carry the burden of the football club and bring it forward.

“Yes, (Gerrard) ticks a lot of boxes. His employees in the back room in the past have returned to Rangers as a manager in the back room, and that didn’t quite work, so he had to change everything I would imagine.

“I think it’s still a long way to become a Rangers manager. I know that you have spoken to people, you have gone through a long list, but it changes every day.

“I don’t think Rangers have decided. Many people guess who will be the next manager.

“Nothing really comes from the club, nothing comes from people who would know.

“I don’t think the Rangers work through this list and get to the person they want.”
