Rafael -Devers have to “take on a new role” with Red Sox, says the legendary Mariners DH

Rafael Devers still learns to be a certain bat. Why not listen to one of the best to ever do it?

Devers may already have all mentors that he needed in the Boston Red Sox organization, since David Ortiz has long been a mentor of his Dominican colleague. But maybe the second largest DH, which has ever been behind Ortiz, offered his attitude to devers.

Devers was moved by his long -term third place at the beginning of the season, and his numbers are not where he wants you to be. He already had two major burglaries this season: a 0 to 19 route with 15 rashes to open the year, and a 4-on-44 slide, which he ended over the weekend in Cleveland.

Recently, the legendary Hitter and the current hit trainer Edgar Martínez from the Seattle Mariners were asked about the fights of the devers during his transition to the DH role and had an encouragement message for the 28-year-old.

“You have to take on your role, that’s the greatest,” said Martínez to Peter Abraham from Boston Globe. “Just hug it like in any other position. But it took a while. You think about your future as a player and have the feeling that you want to contribute to the defensive side.

“I took a while until I found it out. As DH you have the feeling that you have to do something every time you come on the plate because you cannot help in the field. It is difficult. But as soon as you accept what the job is, it will be easier. Devers is a very good bat.”

Martínez had a brilliant 18-year career with the Mariners and played 1,403 of his 2,055 games at ie. A .312 career agent, Martínez, achieved seven all-star appearances and won two striking titles. He was included in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019.

It seems as if Devers are normal again after a 5-to-13 weekend with two home runs on Cleveland. But it still doesn’t hurt to consider the words of the great Edgar Martínez.
