Rachel Maddow ends her 100-day MSNBC run by laughing at Trump one last time

Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell could not stop laughing on the obsession of President Donald Trump with pencils, dolls and a notorious prison of the 20th century on Monday evening.

When Maddow handed over her show of the same name to O’Donnell, she mocked Trump’s comments to NBC News over the weekend, which played down the concerns that his market -shattered tariffs would lead to empty branches during the holiday season.

“I’m just saying that you don’t have to have 30 dolls. You can have three,” said Trump about children who may be in a sad Christmas season. “You don’t have to have 250 pens; you can have five.”

Maddow wondered if Trump believed

“The idea that he believes that if you raise a child in the United States in the United States in 2025, the pencils and dolls think the most,” she said with a laugh. “It’s just a remarkable window in his head.”

“The most beneficial thing that can be said is that he is a type of the 20th century,” O’Donnell replied in an obvious allusion to Trump’s interest in reopening the Alcatraz prison, in which dangerous, top-class criminal were housed.

Trump seemed to be nostalgic in a social post of truth on Sunday for the 20th century.

“When we were a more serious nation in earlier times, we did not hesitate to lock the most dangerous criminals and keep them far from any far from anyone that could harm,” he wrote. “That’s how it should be.”
