President Donald Trump’s appearance at the final celebrations of West Point on Saturday, May 24th, the Hudson River protests will be fulfilled on both sides.

The demonstrators plan a mass outside of the Thayer goal of the US Military Academy at 7 a.m. with signs “Go Army, Defend Democracy”, as guests and dignitaries at the beginning of 2025.

And during Trump’s speech to the cadets, organizations from all of Hudson Valley will gather over the river at Garrison Landing for speeches and protests at 10 a.m.

A flotilla on the Hudson

They are accompanied by a small flotilla of boats that are positioned in the Hudson within sight of the Michie Stadium, where the ceremonies take place.

The base group, which is formed, says Trump’s appearance at the point where George Washington and his troops rebelled against the tyranny of a king, “represents a profound insult to the American patriots”.

“We are quite concerned about the destruction of our democracy, especially in the Hudson Highlands in which our nation was formed,” said Alex Dubroff, organizer.

This will be Trump’s second speech to West Point graduates. The last one that took place at the beginning of the pandemic in May 2020 was subject to former graduates, as cadets were kadetting on chairs that were distributed over the historical level of West Point.

Cadets will march to the stadium at 9:30 a.m.
