Oler at Golden Knights, Western Conference 2nd round game 1 preview

Las Vegas – The hostilities are renewed between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Edmonton Oilers in game 1 of the second round of the Western Conference in the T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday (9:30 p.m. ESPN, SN, TVAS, CBC).

It is a reservations of the hotly contested series two years ago. The teams met in this round in 2023 and the games were quick, qualified, physically and emotionally charged. The Golden Knights won the best-of-7 series in six games and used them as a springboard for their first Stanley Cup championship, which was secured against the Florida Panthers a month later.

Expect more of this with every team, a legitimate contender to win the Stanley Cup. Vegas won the Pacific Division and Edmonton, the two best strikers in the game in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. The Oilers were won by a victory-in-one in the past season from the trophy and lost in a final with seven games against the Panthers.

“Definitely a few heat from a few years ago, some hard feelings,” said Adin Hill, goalkeeper von Golden Knights, who replaced the injured Laurent Brossoit in the game 3 two seasons and ended the series, winning each of his two starts. “It will be good, high intensity. It will probably be quite physically out there, maybe a little chippy. There will be many good hockey players on the ice.”

In addition, game 1 will be of crucial importance. Vegas appears after winning the last three games of his first round against the Minnesota wildly to remove them in six. In the first round against the Kings Los Angeles, Edmonton won a 0-2 hole in a 0-2 hole.

Teams win game 1 in a best-of-7 series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs are 531-249 (68.1 percent). This number improves to 75.1 percent if the home team is victorious.

“The last series was a little different from the transition from the regular season to the playoffs,” said Evander Kane, Oilers striker. “No excuse, but it was a bit of a fact. We understand that it is important for us to go down there and get one and be ready for game 1 and be ready for game 1, to be prepared and be ready for game 1.”

Here is a breakdown of game 1:

Ă–ler: Edmonton is healthy and has introduced itself in a forward rotation with which it is comfortable. The Oilers played McDavid and Draisaitl together with Corey Perry at the top. McDavid and Draisaitl each returned from injuries to the late season and took their move. McDavid had 11 points (two goals, nine templates) and Draisaitl 10 points (three goals, seven templates) against the kings. Edmonton used the same lines in the last two games.

“Feels like an eternity with what has been received in the last month of the season,” said Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch.

Golden Knight: The top line striker Pavel Dorofeyev remains after he was injured against the wilderness in the third period 5. He is listed every day. Don’t be surprised when Vegas changes his defense couples. Trainer Bruce Cassidy is not shy to move his tandems to get the best possible matchup in the game. With several large, Rangy defenders who are available to him, there is the possibility for a certain interchangeability.
