Beloved lamp at the train station

Riggs is an integral part of the Midlothian Fire Station 1 since firefighters saved him three years ago.

Riggs now has special places in the entire station, including his dog bed, his toys, the delicacies and even his own lies, in which Riggs would watch the film of the day with its human employees. Firefighters describe the long -standing station dog both as a treasure and mischievous. It is known that he steals steaks and other food from the kitchen. These areas have been untouched since Friday. Dale McCaskill, fire chief of Midlothian, said the station was not the same without his four -legged member.

“It’s absolutely sad. We just want him to be in it again (Riggs’ bed), and at the moment it is obviously an emptiness for us,” said McCaskill.

McCaskill said that Riggs, a yellow Labrador Retriever mix, said not only has become part of his life, but also brings firefighters at the comfort station.

“Here in the fire station he became part of the family,” said McCaskill. “He is always excited when you return from a call. Anyone who owns a dog knows that he meets her with the same enthusiasm every time, and that was a relief for our firefighters after a stressful call.”

Fire brigade captain Austin Ullrich said it wasn’t the same without the laboratory near his side.

“When I make my report, it is usually in my office,” said Ullrich. “Maybe you have a bad day in the layer or in the layer. You come from something that happened at home, and you can only say that he is probably lying with someone who needs him the most at that time.”

Disappeared after the storms

Riggs was missing on Friday afternoon after storms were swept through the area. Firefighters saw him last 2:45 p.m. in station No. 1

A dog dealer who has her own dog, the other dogs followed, donated their time to search on Sunday afternoon. She followed the fragrance of Riggs from the fire station to about 200 meters away near the Highway 287 and then disappeared.

“We assume that someone has just seen riggs in a storm and felt like he was protecting him, put him in his vehicle and not noticing that it was our dog,” said McCaskill. “We are now just trying to get the word out, and if you have riggs, we would like to see how riggs come home.”

The puppy has its own fire brigade badge in which “Riggs – Midlothian Fire Department” is. He is also a microchip.

Chef McCaskill estimates the support of the community.

“We obviously have driving around. There were many suggestions for various organizations that can help find dogs. We now have a lot of eyes and ears out there to find riggs,” said McCaskill. “He is part of our team and we have the feeling that we lost a member of it at this point.”

Reward for Rigg’s return offered

Midlothian Fire increased its reward offer on Monday from 1,000 to 2,500 US dollars to everyone who localized riggs. If you have information about the location of Riggs or have information about its disappearance, call Station 1 under 469,672-0920.
