Irvine, California – – – Asza Pacific fell back early and could not recover in the opening round of the Pacwest championships on Wednesday evening in Golden Eagles Field in a 7-1 defeat against Concordia.

Julia Doan gave the Cougars a short spark with a solo homerun at the top of the first, but the Golden Eagles reacted with three of their own runs in the lower half and never looked back. A Homer with three runs in the third and a solo shot in the fourth has made up the majority of Concordia’s offenses when the Golden Eagles stacked 10 goals.

Azusa Pacific collected seven hits in the game, including two from Doan, Izzy RiveraAnd Hailey Burns. Caitlin Decanio accused of a hit.

Mia Castillo I took the loss after only recording two outs in the first inn. Ava Hernandez Relief entered and 4.1 Innerings recorded, so that four deserved runs with five goals. Allie Reese Followed the last inning with a goalless frame.

Next: With the defeat, Azusa Pacific will play Dominican on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in an excretion game.
