Michigan State Police Trooper injured, 1 dead in Detroit Shooting

A soldier of the state police in Michigan was injured and one person died early Monday on the west side of Detroit at a shootout, the authorities said.

At around 4:40 a.m. near the 20,000 block of Murray Hill, soldiers in the MSP Auto Theft team were involved in a shootout with one person, the second district of the agency reported on X.

The soldier was hit and taken to a local hospital. According to MSP, the suspect was killed in the exchange of shots.

The examination continues. The state police did not publish any further details on Monday morning.

Hours after the incident, the police officers stayed on site and blocked Trojans and Murray Hill.

As part of the examination, they dragged the vehicle that was assumed that he was the suspect.

The investigators also knocked on the doors of the Murray Hill residents to ask about the incident.

The incident is the latest part of a person who was shot in Michigan by law enforcement officers.

Last month, a man with knife difficult was fatally shot by Ingham County Sheriff’s Deputies.

In March, Warren police officers shot a man who refused to fulfill their commands to drop his weapons.

Also this month, the Attorney General of Michigan, Dana Nessel, said that her office would not use soldiers who were fatally shot by a man last year, after allegedly killing a sheriff of the Hillsdale County.

In February, Nessel said that her office would not invoice two soldiers from the Michigan state police who shot an armed Flint Teenager last year when he ran to law enforcement authorities.
