Mexican influencer Valeria Marquez killed on tikkok livestream

A 23-year-old influencer for social media was shot during the live streaming in Tiktok, the public prosecutor said.

Valeria Marquez was killed when a man entered her beauty salon in the city of Guadalajara and, according to the public prosecutor’s office of the State of Jalisco, seemed to be released on her.

The motive for the fatal attack was not identified, but the case is examined as a female – if women and girls are killed for their gender, the prosecutor said.

Gender -based violence is widespread in Mexico, where the UN reports 10 women or girls are murdered by partners or family members every day.

Ms. Marquez was sitting moments before her death at a table with a soft toy in her beauty salon in the suburb of Zapopan and made a live stream.

It is shot seconds later, whereby the film material only ends when another person picks up their phone to stop the recording.

Local media reports state that she was killed by a man who pretended to bring her a gift.

The police arrived at the scene at around 6:30 p.m. local time (12:30 p.m. GMT) and, according to the prosecutor, confirmed Ms. Marquez’s death.

The public prosecutor did not name a suspect.

Fans of Ms. Marquez, whose social media according to Tikok and Instagram after almost 200,000, responded with horror until their death.

The mayor of Zapopan Juan José Frangie said that his office had no records that Ms. Marquez asked for help from the authorities due to threats against them and added AFP according to the news agency.

The prosecutor says forensic experts examine the shootout.
