Mets’ Alonso, Acuña win monthly awards

The New York Mets ended April with the best record of the league, and a few of their players take home hardware due to their contributions.

MLB announced this on Friday Pete Alonso was appointed National League player of the month for March/April Luisangel Acuña Merit National League Rookie of the Month Honors.

Alonso, who returned over $ 54 million to the METs in a two-year contract after the current season, led all qualified rackets in the NL with a basic percentage of 0.474 and 212 WRC+ until April 30th, while with 2.1 for most FWAR with 2.1.
