Utica, NY – the memorial day falls on Monday, May 26th, and various communities in the Mohawk Valley are preparing for this federal holiday.

A number of events, including cremonies and parades, will take place in the service of the nation.


Brookfield:

Events in the city cemetery start at 8 a.m. in Leonardsville, followed by a parade at 9:30 a.m.

Clark Mills:

On Sunday, May 25th, there will be a cemetery in the Westmoreland and Clark Mills region at 5 p.m., wreath shifts, a gymnastics greeting and playing taps.

On Monday, May 26th, a parade on the Kirkland Cemetery begins at 11 a.m. and culminated in a last ceremony at the Clark Mills Post #26.

Clinton:

The Memorial Day Parade starts at 9 a.m. at the Oriskany Creek Bridge in College Street and goes to the village green.

Deansboro:

The events begin at 10:30 a.m. with a parade, followed by a ceremony at the Deansboro Cemetery.

Forestport:

A memorial day service begins at 9 a.m. in the Memorial Park on the Woodhull Road.

Mohawk:

The Memorial Day Parade will get out on May 26th at 9 a.m.

There will be a ceremony in myers park at 1 p.m.

New Hartford:

The American Legion carries out a ceremony in its post at 11 a.m. and another ceremony in Veterans Memorial Park at 3 p.m. is planned for 7 p.m. A parade is planned for 7 p.m.

The New Hartford Veterans Memorial Park is preparing for the Memorial Day.

New York Mills:

The annual memorial day parade on Monday will take place from the Elm Street at 11 a.m. A ceremony will then take place in Pulaski Park.

North Brookfield:

At 9 a.m. there will be a ceremony at the North Brookfield Cemetery

Ohio:

On Monday there is a wreath ceremony in the Veterans Monument in the Nellis Road.

Onida:

The Memorial Day Parade in Onida begins on Friday, May 23, at 7 p.m.

Oriskany falls:

There will be a parade at noon, followed by a ceremony.

Rome:

The annual Memorial Day ceremony in Veterans Memorial Park takes place at 10:15 a.m. in the North James Street.

The New York State Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund will lead a ceremony to the day of the commemoration on Monday at 2 p.m. in Griffiss Park.

South Brookfield:

A ceremony on the South Brookfield Cemetery takes place at 8:30 a.m.

Unadilla forks:

The annual parade takes place at 11:30 a.m.

Utica:
