According to officials, a man pushed the screen out the window before jumping from the second floor of the hotel.

He then ran and led officers on a foot chase, officials said. One of the officers opened fire, hitting the suspect, who continued to run.

The man ran to Route 42, where police were able to stop him and take him into custody, according to officers. He was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials said none of the officers were injured in the incident and there was no danger to the public.

Guests of the hotel can enter and exit the building, but some parts of it are cordoned off.

The incident shut down Rt. 42 for some time, forcing some traveling for Thanksgiving to find an alternate route to their destination.

It remains unclear at this time where the suspect was hit by the officer’s shots or whether the suspect was armed.
