Los Angeles Dodger’s skipper compares star with Barry Bonds

The Los Angeles Dodgers enjoy the recovery of Shohei Ohtanis and decide to delay his return to the hill until after the All Star break. And in view of the way he produces on the plate, it is difficult to argue with logic.

Ohtani, who worked back from a second Tommy John operation, remains firmly in the MVP discussion, even while he only serves as a specific bat. In his first full season with the Dodgers, he has already delivered a number of clutch performance and beats well over 0.300 with power and speed.

“It makes no sense to rush him on the hill” USA TODAYrepeated the measured approach of the organization.

Manager Dave Roberts praised one step further and compared Ohtani with one of the greats of the game.

“Between him and Barry Bonds they are the two best players I have ever seen,” said Roberts. “I played with Barry. But what Shohei does in the clutch, I’ve never seen anything like this.”

This type of praise – by someone who has shared a clubhouse with ties – begins the historical nature of the ohtanis talent.

The Dodgers have the luxury of patience with a deep start and a roster to fight deeply in October. If Ohtan Return to the Pitching corresponds to the level of his hit, Los Angeles could be almost inviolable if the games are most important.
