Lakers injury report: Austin Reaves dealt with toe injections in playoffs

Perhaps it was a blessing in the disguise that the Lakers lost in game 5 against the wolves.

Although it was frustrating, disappointing and surprising, it probably also prevented an inevitable end. Shortly after Dave McMenamin reported that LeBron James suffered a sprain of MCL 2 MCL in the fourth quarter of the defeat, Dan Woike from La Times also added that Austin Reaves had toe with a toe violation.

Trevor Lane von Laker’s nation gave more insight that it was a great toe injury that restricted what he could do on days outside the offer zone.

As Woike emphasizes, Lebron’s injury would have excluded him exclusively from Austin’s injury, while Luka Dončić was clearly hindered by a back injury that was tightened in the first half of the game.

This season there was simply no playoff run from this team.

For Austin, the toe fore would be at least one way to explain its incredibly poor performance in the series. In the five games, he scored an average of 16.2 points when shooting 41.1% of the field and 31.9% shooting from the 3-point line.

After an average of over 20 points with efficient shooting in the regular season, Reaves was anything but effective in the playoffs and was usually a non-factor in games.

The explanation of these injuries until the playoffs are over is often considered an apology by the fans after the loss. Really, it’s a no-winner scenario. If you reveal it during the playoffs, you will be the goal of opponents.

Like LeBron, this is not a injury that changes Austin’s plans for the summer. He will have time to rest and relax before returning to the court. However, it will probably prevent him from playing golf for a few weeks, which could be really difficult.
