Kentucky stays 8th place

Kentucky missed an opportunity for an urgently needed street victory when the outsider cats blow a late multi-owner advantage against Texas. The most recent defeat fell back to the schedule in the league game at 0.500 (6-6) with only six games.

But the overall place in the overall ranking did not change.

Kentucky keeps up stable in place No. 8, but the state of Mississippi closes after a big street victory to complete a season -sweep over the rival Ole Miss. It is still time to climb the ladder, but that could be difficult if the remaining games against the games are Alabama and Auburn.

Let’s take a closer look at the SEC tournament race.

Current rating

  1. Auburn (11-1)
  2. Alabama (10-2)
  3. Florida (9-3)
  4. Texas A & M (9-3)
  5. Missouri (8-4)
  6. Ole Miss (8-5)
  7. Tennessee (8-5)
  8. Kentucky (6-6)
  9. Mississippi State (6-6)
  10. Vanderbilt (5-7)
  11. Texas (5-8)
  12. Arkansas (4-8)
  13. Georgia (4-9)
  14. Oklahoma (3-9)
  15. LSU (2-10)
  16. South Carolina (0-12)

Kentucky is now connected to identical 6-6 records with identical 6: 6 records, but thanks to a victory in Starkville, it has the head-to-head tie-breaker. The cats are just one game behind the seed no. 6, but only one game in front of Vanderbilt. The Commodores would have all Tiebreaker against Great Britain if Mark Byington‘S -squar ends the season -Sweep on Wednesday evening in the Rupp Arena.

Auburn took a big step to a season title with a second title with a victory in Tuscaloosa on Saturday afternoon. Missouri remains looking for a double-bye point. Kenpom is currently demanding that the tigers are a competition in every remaining game.

A victory against Texas prevented Kentucky from being a game from Missouri and that a head-to-head game remained between the two programs according to the schedule.

Projected SEC classification

Using Kenpom projections, the SEC tournament field would look. I used some projected results to find Tiebreaker winners. Seven teams are forecast to achieve double -digit victories. Kentucky is expected to end three games behind the three-way draw for seeds No. 4.

A run to the double -bye seems to be very unlikely with six games.

Ole Miss and Mississippi State currently feel like the two teams. Texas also lurks while he has the head-to-head tiebreaker against Great Britain. Kentucky has to end a game in front of Ole Miss to climb over the rebels. This has been remarkable since then Chris BartThe team is already eight victories. The state also has the chance to close with the remaining competitions against Oklahoma (February 22), LSU (March 1), Texas (March 4) and Arkansas (March 8).

  1. Auburn (16-2)
  2. Florida (14-4)
  3. Alabama (13-5)
  4. Tennessee (12-6)
  5. Texas A & M (12-6)
  6. Missouri (12-6)
  7. Ole Miss (10-8)
  8. Kentucky (9-9)
  9. Mississippi State (9-9)
  10. Texas (8-10)
  11. Vanderbilt (7-11)
  12. Arkansas (7-11)
  13. Georgia (6-12)
  14. Oklahoma (5-13)
  15. LSU (3-15)
  16. South Carolina (2-16)

Kentucky is expected to open the SEC tournament in the first game against the winner of the Mississippi State-South Carolina on Thursday. The winner of this game would play Auburn in Nashville in the first game on Friday. The 11: 7 record could be necessary to get out of the eight-spot. This means that a 5: 1 ends the rest of the path.

The SEC tournament in games No. 8 against No. 9 seems likely. Playing on Wednesday is also an option.
