Kendrick Perkins explains that he could have locked Nikola Jokic – fans call him madness

Kendrick Perkins may have delivered the wildest income from the NBA playoffs from 2025, and that says something. During a recent episode of NBA Countdown, Perkins confidently said that he could have included the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and said:

“Jokic would not have wanted this smoke. Kobe said I was the best post -defender in the league.”

The internet didn’t take long to break out.

NBA fans wasted no time to describe Perkins as delusion. The reactions ranged from humorous unbelief to completely ridiculous. “Jokic would fall 70 and 30 on Perk” wrote a fan on x while someone else joked, “He lied so crazy about Kobe’s name.”

One of the most viral reactions was, “Take the microphone from this N *** a.”

Maybe the most cut roast? “Kendrick Perkins could not slow down the stars from the bank.”

Perkins has always been a lightning rod for Hot Takes, but this really seems to have exceeded the reality limit. Nikola Jokic is not only in the middle of his best individual campaign, but also performs numbers that keep up with the greatest seasons in NBA history.

The Denver Nuggets star is currently an average of 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game with an absurd shooting of 57.6% from the field and 41.7% of beyond the arch. He is essentially a 7-foot point with the strength of a center and mind of a chess wholesal master.

Statistically speaking, Jokic was the first player in NBA history to end the top three in points, rebounds, assists and theft in a single season. No other player even cracked the top ten in all four top ten. The idea that Perkins, who scored an average of 5.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in his career, would have been neutralized by Jokic somehow.

This does not mean that Perkins had no value as a role player in his heyday. He was a solid executor and brought toughness to the color, especially during his days in Boston Celtics.

But the idea that he could slow down the most versatile offensive man that the league has ever seen. Even Elite defenders like Anthony Davis and Bam Adebayo were humiliated by Jokic’s combination of vision, touch and footwork.

And yet Perkins decided to increase his claim by calling himself to the deceased Kobe Bryant and said Kobe once called him “the best post -defender in the league”. It is impossible to check whether this is true or not, but the fans quickly rejected the anecdote.

“He lied to Kobe’s name so casually”, “ A comment said. Others suggested that the statement were only an attempt to remain relevant in the always well -kept world of sports comment.

In the meantime, Jokic does not participate in the chatter. He is busy preparing for the greatest game of his season: game 7 against MVP rival Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

With a trip to the Western Conference Finale on the line and the Timberwolves, who are waiting, Jokic will try to silence all the remaining double, as he knows how he dominates.

And if Kendrick Perkins really believes that Jokic would not want to “want this smoke”, he might want to check the firepower that Jokic brings. Because if someone is cooked in this matchup, it is not Nikola.
