Jimmy Kimmel’s most-watched moment of 2024 surprisingly has nothing to do with Trump

Jimmy Kimmel Live! It wrapped up its year earlier this month, capping off another season full of monologues, pranks, celebrity interviews and, yes, Donald Trump jokes. But surprisingly, late-night TV’s most-watched moment of the year had nothing to do with the president.

Kimmel took his late-night show to new levels during the Trump years. His monologues mocking and refuting Trump’s character and policies have been viewed millions of times. The comedian even had several public arguments with Trump.

So you might think that the most popular moment of 2024 has something to do with Trump and the election. However, this is not the case. Kimmel’s most-viewed clip on YouTube is his March interview with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent.

The interview was Dr. Dre’s first nightly television appearance in 30 years. The legendary rapper and producer talked about getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, his legendary collaborations and his approach to making music.

As if that wasn’t enough, Snoop Dogg joined him for an in-depth conversation. The pair discussed how they met, creating The Chronic and working on new music together.

But Jimmy Kimmel Live! wasn’t done there. 50 Cent came out to talk about Dr. Reflecting on Dre’s influence, his career and his Super Bowl performance with Dre and Snoop.

Fans were amazed by Jimmy Kimmel’s interview with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent thrilled

Jimmy Kimmel received almost unanimous praise from fans for the almost 30-minute interview. The YouTube version of the interview has over 13 million views.

Rap fans particularly appreciated how Kimmel managed to bring together three of the genre’s biggest stars for an interview. The late-night TV show also wisely gave the segment enough time to cover a wide range of topics with all three stars.

Several comments under the video mentioned the wave of nostalgia that comes from seeing three of hip-hop’s biggest icons sitting on a couch together.

The interview probably brought back some fond memories for Kimmel, too. Snoop Dogg appeared in the first episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2003. And 50 Cent was there for the second episode.

It won’t be easy for Jimmy Kimmel to top this moment in 2025. But the late-night host will give it a try when he returns with new episodes in January.
