How Yankees Anthony Volpe Breaking Cardinal Rule addressed

West Sacramento, California. – Yankees Shortstop Anthony Volpe is viewed by his manager as an exhilarating player, one with a very high baseball -iq.

It didn’t look so early in the 11: 7 defeat of the Yankees against athletics on Saturday.

One of the unofficial cardinal rules of the baseball is not two outs on the third basis.

In the second inning, Polpe broke with a risky basic decision that ended a risk of evaluation.

In a goalless game, the Yankees put two on a Down against AS left -handed JP Sears when Volpe took a walk and Austin Wells was hit by a field, which Jasson Dominguez produced.

One day after his record game with three homer games, Dominguez led a 322-foot fly-of-corn-flyball in Tyler Soderstrom, which has never played out of the outer field before this season and has one of the weakest throwing weapons in the league.

Soder current made the hook and then whipped a one-hop throw on the third basis when he lifted Volpe tag and lifts.

The Shortstop Jacob Wilson from A, who initially did not notice that Polpe ran, almost cut off the ball before he waved his glove out of the way in the last second.

The throw was a few feet high, but the third Baseman Miguel Andujar reached after blocking the bag, and Volpe slipped into his glove.

Double game, Inning Over.

Bad decision, right?

Yes and no, manager Aaron Boone proposed in his interview after the game.

Yes, because Volpe led the Yankees out of an inning. No, because Soder current has a weak arm and a successful day-up would have led to Wells also reaching the goal position for Pablo Reyes, which would appear next.

“We wanted to challenge Soder current a little and it is a little different (situation),” said Boone. “Of course, they don’t usually want to make third place in third place, but they bring a second runner with them. They also bring a runner from the first in goal position.

“And the piece is right in front of Anthony. When he started (ran), he read the throw. It was right at the goal. Not what we want there, but with a second runner and instinctively like (Volpe) is usually outside, these things will happen when you try to play an aggressive game.”

This was not one of the better games from Volpe. He was 1: 3 with a double and a walk twice in four bats, but two bloop were mixed.

In addition to the basic gaffe, Volpe boot a double game floor ball for a mistake.

In the third, the A already hit three on a Brent Rooker Homer to climb 4-0, and Shea Langeliers started another rally with a one-out single.

Then Anderjar met a large large at Volpe. This should have been 6-4-3 Inningenters, but the ball appeared and steered off the heel of Volpe’s glove.

Polpe raced to take the ball and throw it in second place, and excluded during the REV, it was an obvious, pruning call that was reversed with a repeat challenge.

The Yankees did not cost the mistake because Rodon Lawrence Butler made it 1-0 for the third on four parking spaces and Luis Urias for the first time, but it is remarkable.

The 2023 Gold Glove winner and 2024 Gold Glove candidate made a mistake in his first 30 games this season, but Volpe has made four in his last eight games.

The recent fights at Shortstop have reduced the Polpe percentage to 0.965. This is tenth under 13 Qualifications -Al -Shortstops, only in front of the Tigers ‘Trey Sweeney, the Blue Jays’ Bo Bichette and the Brayan Rocchio from Guardians.

Volpe had a fairly decent 2 1/2 weeks with a Homer and six RBI on the record in his last 17 games. This route (since April 20) has increased its average from 0.197 to 0.230, and its five Homer and 21 RBIs have it at a pace for 21 and 87.

Like Aaron Richter in good and bad times, Volpe has the same attitude when he plays or fights well:

“Work on.”
