‘Hoos probably the NCAA tournament that comes after the late season

Charlottesville, Va. (WVIR) -UVA trainer Brian O’Conor says that his UVA baseball team has probably already received a large offer for the NCAA tournament, regardless of how the Hoos in the ACC tournament is going in Durham this week.

The Cavaliers ended the regular season after winning four in the following ACC series and winners of 20 of their last 26 games.

“We played a little more for a little,” says student catcher Jacob Ference from UVA. “The relationships were knitted closely outside the field, and I think that plays a big factor for the way we play in the field.”

Coach O’Connor said he had a team meeting with the boys about a month ago, and honestly about where the team was at this point and what it would need to do the off -season.

“That our back was basically on the wall and we had to take care of every opportunity we had in front of us, and they did.” says O’Connor.

“The young boys let it know, we don’t have to panic,” says Uva Senior Pitcher Jay Woolfolk. “Don’t do things that we usually don’t do.”

Virginia’s route was stronger. Jay Woolfolk has his best season excursion, eight Innerings and only gives up two runs in a UVA victory against Virginia Tech.

“Jay Woolfolk is a winner,” says O’Connor. “Every time the young man appears in the young man at the most important time, he did it last year, he did it on the stretch run this year. I think it’s part of his DNA.”

Woolfolk will start the Virginia ACC tournament opener on Wednesday, which is planned for a start from 9 p.m.

“My mother doesn’t love it,” says Woolfolk about the late start. “I can sleep all day, just go out there and play Virginia baseball.”
