Hilary Knight by Boston Fleet called PWHL MVP finalist

The captain of Boston Fleet, Hilary Knight, was appointed one of three finalists for PWHL’s MVP Prize after a second season of Breakout.

Knight is named by Renata Fast (Toronto) and Marie-Philip Poulin (Montreal) as the finalist for the award, which is named for the PWHL investor and advisory member and Billie Jean King.

The selection committee voted on the finalists between the regular season and the playoffs, and the winning player, who is determined to be the most successful success of their team, will be announced on June 25, the day after the PWHL entry draft from 2025.

After a slow start to her PWHL career in the opening season of the league, Knight 2024-25 broke out. She ended the regular season with 29 points in 30 games with 29 points and was one of two players who listed her team in hits (15) and assists (14) within a single season.

Her 29 points this season were an 18-point improvement compared to their 2024 campaign.

The 35 -year -old Knight is one of the most decorated players in sports. In 2006 she made her debut in the US national team at 17 and won four Olympic medals (3 silver, 1 gold) and 15 World Cup medals (5 silver, 10 gold) with Team USA. She keeps the records of the World Championship tournament in goals, templates and points.

She plans to make the 2026 Olympics into her fifth and last games, she told USA today on Tuesday, even though she wants to continue to take part in the PWHL after 2026.

“I understood what the sport gave me and I wanted to give other people. I wanted other people to have the same opportunities I had,” said Knight to USA today. “Obviously there is a lot of work that always needs to be done, but I think we have a career path now.”

Poulin is MVP finalist for the second year after led the league in goals and helped Montreal to conquer the top seed in the playoffs. Her 19 goals were the top of the league and her 26 points were the fourth.

Almost is the first defender to be the finalist for the award after led this season with 739: 45 season for an average of 24:39 per game on the ice. Her 13 Power Play points were most bound in PWHL history and contained a record of 11 templates to help Toronto achieve a success rate of 24.4%.
