HBL PSL 2025: Maaz, Babar Keepar Peshawar Zalmis Playoffs on life – sport

Lahore: Peshawar Zalmi ensured that the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) were pursued when debutant Maaz Sadaqat and Skipper Babar Azam played a win with six Wicket against Islamabad United on Friday on Friday.

Zalmi are fifth in the overall ranking -with two points that they separate from Karachi kings -but still mathematically in front of them. United, as is certain at the top, lost his second game in a row after winning five in the trot.

They were poor with the bat against Zalmi and gave them 144 to follow before Babar and Maaz – both for half centuries – combined 100 runs in 60 balls to help Zalmi jump back from a difficult start to bring the goal with 20 balls to replace.

Zalmi was reduced to 40-3 in the power play, with Kyle Mayer beating the second ball of the Inning to get Mitch Owen, and Ben Dwarshuis Saim Ayub on his stumps and Mohammad Haris victim of a spectacular catch of Nasem Shah ahead of Riley Meredith’s bowling.

Babar and Maaz initiated their reaction with caution, with only 20 runs in the next three overs before Maaz pulled, and hit Mayers directly for two six to bring his team halfway to 76: 3.

Maaz punished a stubborn delivery of Nasem in the 12th to record his 50 partnership with Babar before pulling Dwarshuis for another six, and the next year, two borders made ahead of Saad Masood’s shoot to reach half a century.

After the young Meredith shredded through the long sticks for another four, Babar (53 not from 49, four fours and six) joined the party and raised the Pacer over the same region for his first six. He put up for half a century and the 100-run partnership with Maaz with a four of Nasem in the 16th.

In the overview, Maaz (55 of 33, four fours and three six) fell, but at that time he had practically won Zalmi.

After winning the throw, United tried to hit a bowling-friendly surface before Dwarshuis’ late cameo helped them to 143-9.

Dwarshuis, who came to the racket with 107: 7 at the beginning of Over 17th with 107-7, hit three four and two six in his knocking of 33 out of 17 balls.

He broke United’s bonds with great four over Midwicket and looked for a slower shorter delivery from Ahmed Daniyal before overlooking the Pacer because of a long time.

After Imad Wasim had lost his wind at the other end, Dwarshuis loosened again, this time in front of Alzarri Joseph’s pace before getting a happy border. He was supported by Babar’s Fehlfielding for Langsticken for Four more when United closed her inning.

In the start of IT openings Sahibzada Farhan and Mayers-Das, his first game of the season played at the huge pace and the movement of Joseph and Luke Wood with 49: 0 in the power play.

Zalmi missed an opportunity for an early breakthrough when Farhan, after surviving an LBW appell on the first ball of the game, played wood directly into the hands of Babar on the middle of the outlet, only so that the Zalmi captain dropped him.

Farhan, after celebrating his postponement by beating three foursies and six in the first six over, Babar finally looked at him with Ahmed Streik in the ninth time.

Mayers later followed three balls to give the fast bowler Mohammad Ali his first Wicket before Saim Salman Ali Agha got Haris a brilliant catch in the Wickets, whereby the scoreboard read 75: 3 at the end of 11th place.

The incoming Shadab Khan had hit two four to finish Saim’s Wicket, but the all-rounder Lohren led Joseph to Maaz in Midwicket before Ali (3-26) returned to get Colin Munro and Saad.

Azam Khan was next in line to lose his wind, and wood jumped out before Dwarshuis took over.
