Hansi Flick tells Barcelona player to La Liga title: “If you can celebrate, you can play”

Hansi Flick has informed his Barcelona players that celebrating after her celebrations in La Liga is not an excuse that her performances drop.

Barca scored the league title with a two-goal victory at Espanyol on Thursday and ensured that it was an insurmountable seven points that solved second place with two remaining rounds before the second place.

The confirmation triggered celebrations with an open bus parade through the streets of the Catalan city on Friday.

“We didn’t lose in 2025 and want to keep it that way,” said Flick on Saturday at his press conference before the game.

“Turn against Villarreal? We will make changes, but I’ll decide tomorrow how we will do. Yesterday was a day of celebration and calm.

“Many players are celebrated, but those who can celebrate can play, it’s not an excuse. I want to end the season as we started.”

Flick was then asked if he would consider a team from the club’s youth team graduates from the club’s La Masia system.

“To be honest, we discussed it internally, but we didn’t decide,” said the Barca head coach.

“It is possible. But we’ll wait until tomorrow to see how the team is doing.”

Barca regained the title after Madrid’s success in the 2023-24 campaign, although this season is only the second title for the Catalan Club since 2019.
