Lay in your resume to secure a job. This is the latest advice from influencers to genes who are looking for work.

TIIKTOK is a source of career counseling for gen Z. A new study shows that more than 70% of the Genzers Tiktok use for professional advice. The hashtag #careertok has become a valuable resource for the young generation of work, in which it share advice and success at work.

“An underestimated skill that you need to make up for yourself is a bullship with regard to CVs,” said Tiktok Influencer and HR Manager @Womptomp in a viral video with over 400,000 likes and thousands of comments.

For example, he says that if you have ever locked up a door in a security building, you are the manager. For people in assistant roles who are responsible for coffee, says @womptomp, it is actually “responsible for the development of customer relationships”.

“If it is not a pilot or a heart surgeon, it is not real to be qualified for a position. You can learn that. You only have to use the language of white people to sound better than it is.”

He is not alone in his feelings. In a career survey, 1,000 people were asked: “Have you ever lied, exaggerated or inaccurate information in an application?” Almost half of the respondents of Gen Z (47%) admitted to being on an application.

Gen z is more likely to lie; Older generations lie less often

The same survey showed that zoomers are most likely to exaggerate in application applications, but that older generations are less likely to be on CVs. Thirty -eight percent of the millennials admitted to lying on CVs compared to 20% of the generation Xer and almost 10% of baby boomers.

Amanda Augustine, certified professional professional trainer, is of the opinion that a majority of job seekers who lie or overdo it in applications bet on the conviction that if you can go through the first resume screening for an interview if you can impress the personnel manager.

She warns that even a “little lie” can come back to bite her and ruin her professional reputation.

“If you fear that your experience is not perfect for a position, concentrate on fulfilling your information instead of falsifying you,” she said in an explanation.

The possibilities of being able to reorganize your curriculum vitae are only the years or the highlighting of freelance work, workshops for professional development and volunteer roles.

“These strategies can help tell a more convincing and more truthful story,” she said.
