Haeran Ryu leads with two at the Black Desert Championship

Ivins, Utah-Haeran Ryu, gained control of the black desert championship by refraining from Eagle on the 11th hole and for the first time in more than 60 years for the first time in more than 60 years, he was sending it to a 4-below 68 lead.

Ryu will try to win a tournament for the seventh year in a row when she was in Korea LPGA when she was 18.

Their biggest challenge could be to get Yin, the former PGA champion for women, the 10 birdies in Black Desert for a 62, the best score of the tournament and sufficient to get within two shots.

Ryu started with a two-shot lead and had caught the players twice, if only briefly.

One of them was Somi Lee, who had a couple of early birdies before she destroyed herself with a double bogey to No. 6 and no birdies until she had the last hole after shot out of the tournament.

Esther Henseleit from Germany caught Ryu briefly, but only until the 24-year-old Korean in the 11th Fairway, 82 meters away. Her wedge fell the slope with just enough rotation to send it into the cup for an eagle.

Henseleit made a 10-foot bird cover on the 17th to get within a shot. But she hit her trip into the black lava rock and had to hit another from the discount. Her par chip from just before the green left her foot away, but she missed a routine putt and made double bogey. That gave the Germans a 68 and left their three shots behind.

“I think you just have to think about the good recordings you made,” said Henseleit.

Ryu had the chance to expand her leadership until she missed a birdie putt of about the same distance that Henseleit had.

Ryu, who shared the lead of 54 holes at a major in the Chevron championship last week, was at 18-unit 198. Her last victory last year was also celebrated at a tournament, the LPGA debut, the FM championship.

Yin, who lost the chance last week to win another major when she was three-way in the five-way playoff in the Chevron, started the day eight shots and recorded her 62 over time when the last group turned the turn.

“I will just say: stay in the present and the past is the past,” said Yin. “I think you cannot guarantee that every day as today will be a good day, but you just have to keep trying and keep trying to have a nice day.”

The early days are ahead of the last round on Sunday due to rain in forecast.
