Greek mythology Diablo Rival Titan Quest 2 Plans New upgrades after the beta success

We are currently in a gold era for action -rpgs. The last era currently has my attention, but Path of Exile 2 continues to make great progress, its predecessor is preparing for a new chapter, and Diablo 4 season 8 is more robust than ever before. However, if you love to smash mobs and snap prey, you want to take time for the time Titan Quest 2. The upcoming Greek fantasy carpg recently closed the doors during its first big game test, and in his wake developer Grimlore Games offers a new feedback and an update to its publication plans.

“First and foremost, we would like to express our warm gratitude for the overwhelming answer,” writes Grimlore in a new blog. It shows that 92% of the Titan Quest 2 Beta surveyed described the overall experience as “positive to very positive”. The game test contained the introductory chapter of the RPG, the ability to choose their two championships, and a fight against the first big boss, and the studio expresses that “they play, stream and discussion of the game were incredibly motivating and showed that we were on the right track in many regards.”

In addition to the positive overall reaction, Grimlore notes that about two thirds of the Playtest participants “recently played Titan Quest 1 or would consider themselves Titan Quest experts as Titan Quest experts”. It is said that it is satisfied that the appreciation of this group “means that we were able to grasp the Titan Quest Spirit”, while the similarly enthusiastic feedback from newcomers represents the success of TQ2 to “keep the old spirit alive while creating a modernized game”. In addition, an “overwhelming majority” says that they would recommend the game to friends in their current state.

The big winners included the atmosphere and the graphics as well as the feeling of research, hidden areas, environmental storytelling and narrative events. “This game test only contained the smaller, more linear intro chapter. So you can expect a lot more openness and handmade quests, encounters and events in the future,” promises Grimlore. It is said that it is also satisfied that the players rate the difficulty of an average of 3.63 out of six. “This is a good place, challenging, but not unfair. We want a balance between appealing struggle and an experience that is relaxed enough after a long day to relax.”

Of course there are game tests to find improvement areas, and Grimlore takes out several. It realizes some players who describe the fight as sluggish or slowly and say: “Our goal is to make tactical and more sensible struggles, but it should never feel sluggish.” It has improvements there, together with adjustments to the target system after a few answers, in which the difficulties that effectively aim at grinding.

Grimlore takes into account equilibrium feedback, since it results in a fine-tuning where the skills end up. It is also the monitoring of the performance problems, although the remarks that most respondents were satisfied with the current state and adds that it wants to concentrate more on this aspect that is closer to the 1.0 start. “It is much better to optimize if you have all the parts in front of you without adding new ones and the existing ones are constantly being implemented.”

The team has already implemented “several minor improvements” in response to the game test. Among these are some practical control options from the first start, so that you can choose between mouse movements and WASD controls before playing. There is also the possibility to select a ‘classic scheme’ based on the original, which sets both movement and attack on the left mouse button. Finally, new visual effects were introduced to make it more obvious when and where they have not output master points.

Finally, Grimlore addresses the Titan Quest 2 release window. Before that, it was temporary to start early access at the beginning of 2025, but “it was found that there was a lot of noise in our target window for targeted release.” That makes it mild; April saw new seasons for Diablo 4, the path of Exil 2, Last Epoche and Torchlight Infinite. As such, the studio decided to “postpone the beginning of early access to summer” and added that it hoped to announce a specific date soon.

While we are waiting for this news, there are much more of the best games like Diablo to keep them busy. Alternatively, you can look at the rest of the big upcoming PC games for 2025 and beyond.
