Golden State Valkyrie's final. Here is who did the WNBA team.

Oakland-die Valkyries Golden State set their 12-player squad for the season opener on Friday against the Los Angeles Sparks in the Chase Center.

The surprises that survived the last cuts on Wednesday were Janelle Salaün, who was not with the team in the training camp, and Kyara Linskens, who played a limited role in the two exhibition games of the team.

However, the list will not contain the three selection of the team from the draft of the last month and the veteran Laeticia Amihere, which scored 25 points in the previous season.

“Today is a bittersweet day for our franchise,” said General Manager Ohemaa Nyanin after training on Wednesday. “Our employees have made many difficult decisions today. There are many dreams that became true today, and there are many dreams that have been postponed.”

In order to achieve the squad limit, the Valkyries waived their draft pick of the third round, Kaitlyn Chen, together with a group of veterans, which included Chloe Bibby, Elissa Cunane and Migna Touré.

Coach Natalie Nakase said she felt that the group of players who have made the team have brought to share a strong chemistry at both ends of the ground.

After the Valkyries had released in the second round on May 3, just five days after the training camp, Chen, Shyanne Sellers, the Valkyries have no player from their 2025 design class on the squad to start the season. While Amiher’s offensive upward trend in the two pre -season she played was obvious, the Valkyries decided to keep forward, which could better cut off at the defensive end. Salaün, Kayla Thornton, Stephanie Talbot and Cecilia Zandalasini were better defense opportunities than Amiher and Golden State decided to keep more size on the squad.

Temi Fágbénlé and Monique Billings are expected to play difficult minutes before the forecourt this season. Linskens was considered a long time to do the team at the beginning of the training camp, but impressed Nakase and the team of coaches with their ability to recover and exist.

Linkens got eight rebounds against the sparks in nine second half.

“I feel overwhelmed because I didn’t really expect it,” said Linkens about the team. “I’m only grateful for the opportunity.”

With Carla Lite, Kate Martin, Julie Vanloo, Tiffany Hayes and Veronica Burton, Golden State has a group of guards that young and old. Hayes and Vanloo-Beide in the mid-1930s Lite, Martin and Burton, all of whom are younger than 25 years old, a high degree of experience.

The Eurobasket tournament of women should take place in mid-June, which means that there are also opportunities for players to be signed 10-day contracts in just a few weeks. The Valkyries have seven players from Europe on their squad, although not all of them play for their home country during the June tournament.

Nyanin said she would not rule out a player who was shortened during the training camp to return to the list.

“We hope that we will do this if there is an opportunity to bring it back,” said Nyanin.
