Ford will invest in electric vehicles in Indonesia in 2025: Ministry – Corporate

Ord Motor Company is expected to build an electric vehicle production plant in Indonesia next year, according to an industry ministry official.

Deputy Industry Minister Faisol Riza said he was confident about the development of the country’s electric vehicle industry and hoped that more locally produced electric vehicles would enter the market.

“Ford has promised to realize its factory and investments in Indonesia by next year,” the minister said at an event in Jakarta.

“It looks like some of the global (automotive) manufacturers that were once here and then disappeared are also coming back,” Faisol said, alluding to Ford’s decision to pull out of the Indonesian market in 2016.
