Fantasy -Baseball -Verzensverblucht Wire: NL Central Southpaws Lead Top Picks

We like topics when we discuss our top fantasy baseball pickups of the week, and we have an obvious entry into week 9: left-handed start jugs from the NL Central! We do not invent this, since each of these deserved scholarship holders is one of the most suitable players in ESPN standard leagues. These are not darts. These jugs are good.

Andrew Abbott, SP, Cincinnati Reds (available in 58.6% of the ESPN leagues): Abbott threw five innings against the team’s rivals on Sunday, the team’s Cleveland Guardians, and got his third victory. Abbott has started seven starts this season and he has more than a deserved run in just one of them, a late April excursion on the Höhenhöhe from Denver. Abbott, 26, is not known for its durability. Both his strike rates and his control were inconsistent in three seasons, but today things are going well. It is even recommended with his next two outings that are intended against the divisional chicago cubs.

Matthew Boyd, SP, Chicago Cubs (available in 61.2%): When Boyd from the Cubs defeated the rival Chicago White Sox on Saturday and achieved his fourth victory in six decisions. He threw six innings in nine starts for the sixth time. Boyd surprised by Cleveland last season and achieved a 2.72 ERA over eight mostly shortened starts. The strike rate was not too surprising, since Boyd 2019 did for the Detroit Tigers 238 Hitter for the Detroit Tigers, albeit with an ERA of 4.56. He has plagued him since then. This version of Boyd, 34, appears with an ERA of 2.98 and enough run support to win double-digit games for the first time. Next are the Reds and a delicious home game with the Colorado Rockies.

Matthew Liberatore, RP/SP, St. Louis Cardinals (available in 52.0%): Liberatorde threw six Innerings from One-Run ball on Sunday at the cross-state rival Kansas City Royals and lowered his era on flawless 2.92. He allowed two or less deserved runs in each of his last seven starts, with only a Homerun in this magical span. The 25 -year -old liberatore finally thrives with a defined role in the rotation after several years of the start and solution festival. He delivers a career best strike and floor ball rate. Everything looks legitimate. Liberatore should compete in his next two excursions against the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers.

We could not leave this section without mentioning another left -hander who took the hill this weekend, albeit in the NL West. Los Angeles Dodgers Future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw (Available in 65.3%) made his debut in 2025 against the Crosstown Los Angeles Angels on Saturday and did not go well. The 37 -year -old Kershaw returns from knee and toe operations outside the season. He allowed five runs over four innings and went three against two strikeouts. Of course, this is not a typical Kershaw performance. His career is 2.51. You may not want him to be active against the New York Mets this week at Citi Field, but Kershaw will pay off this season when you are fully healthy.

Closer to add

Jordan Romano, RP, Philadelphia Phillies (available in 86.9%): Perhaps the greatest news from the weekend were the 80-game lock, which was raised on LHP in more Jose Alvarado (2.70 ERA, 7 parades). Romano took over the ninth inn against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday and beat Bryan Reynolds, 1b Spencer Horwitz and 3b Ke’bryan Hayes – the heart of the order as it is – everything on 11 parking spaces.

The slowly starting Romano had an unfortunate ERA of 13.50 ERA before only eight games. Since then he has allowed a run in eight innings, three goals and 11 strikes. He and LHP Matt Strahm may share parades, but Romano beats like the top five closer, which he was once for Toronto. As for Alvarado, let him fall.

Rotisserie style player to add

Andy pages from Los Angeles Dodgers (available in 65.3%): Pages is a more attractive red option than a asset of the points because it is an aggressive bats that is not susceptible to many walks. In fact, pages have 69 record appearances in May and he only reached the first basis via Free Pass in one of them. In the last five games, however, he has made three times three times and, thanks to the IL stint of Teoscar Hernandez, rose in the team’s line -up. Pages has nine home runs and five stolen bases, and although we do not like his walk rate that reduces some of his rookie campaign, he has become a better fantasy option.

Two start-value collection

Ben Brown, SP/RP, Chicago Cubs (available in 89.4%): Yes, more cubs. However, if you start the week in South Florida against the weak Miami Marlins for the week and then look for the inconsistent red vest, this should be a positive week. Brown, 25, still has a 4.75 ERA and a whip of 1.56 that are not great. Nevertheless, his 15 strikes against two walks over his last two excursions (the 10 1/3 innings cover) are a great sign of improvement. Brown may not be an emerging ass, but there are obvious strikes upside down, especially against the red (fourth in MLB in Strikeouts).

Deeper League tone buyers

Logan Henderson, SP, Milwaukee Brewers (available in 91.8%): Henderson gave his MLB debut on April 20 and defeated athletics, but then he was sent back to Triple-A Nashville. The organization brought him back last week and Henderson won in Cleveland. At that point, he should stay for the Brewers, with 16 strikes against two walks over 11 solid innovations. The 23 -year -old Henderson is scheduled to compete against the impressed Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. Then who knows? Nevertheless, add it if it continues to thrive.

Chris Paddack, SP, Minnesota Twins (available in 94.6%): Paddack fought in his first excursion of 2025 and allowed nine deserved runs to the low white SOX, but he has reduced his unsightly era in every appearance since then. Paddack’s best excursions are the most regular, since he finally scored his first two victories and reached seven innings in both competitions. The twins are at stake, thanks to their pitching, and paddack, the fantasy manager since his rookie campaign with the Padres in 2019, deserves something credit. He stands in front of the guards on Tuesday, then the Tampa Bay Rays and Seattle Mariners.
