Coach Madugu will gather key insights from France-based players ahead of the friendly

Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu has highlighted the crucial role the France-based players will play in his team’s upcoming friendly match.

According to Madugu, these players have valuable knowledge of their opponents’ strengths and weaknesses, which could give Nigeria a tactical advantage.

These players include goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie who plays for Paris FC, Jennifer Echegini who plays for Paris Saint-German Women and Ifeoma Onumonu who plays for Montpellier.

Speaking to reporters, Madugu explained how the insights of his players based in France will help shape the team’s strategy for the game.

He explained that knowing the playing style and tendencies of opponents, especially those who also play in the French league, could be a big advantage.

“If you have a colleague or teammate who also plays for your own national team, you also have the advantage of getting to know many of such a player’s strengths and weaknesses, just as he also knows and knows your own.” Yours, because they become yours too analyze our own team,” said Madugu.

Coach Madugu added that the key data collected from these players would help the coaching staff formulate a tactical plan to neutralize the opponent’s strengths.

“This little information and details will also help us develop a plan that can help neutralize the strength of these players that we know, because we know that they too will do the same.”

Madugu also pointed out that players who are familiar with the French league gain additional insight into the tactics and tendencies of their opponents, especially those they regularly play against.

“That’s why it’s good that we have some of our players playing in France and giving a few little tips on some of the players. Those who are their colleagues and who they play against week in and week out in the league,” he said.

Head coach Justine Madugu invited a 20-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming international match against France. The game is scheduled for Saturday November 30th at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers. The game will kick off at 9:30 p.m. local time.

This is expected to serve as an important test for the Super Falcons as they continue their preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
