Celtics need more of Kristaps Porzingis

Kristaps Porzingis was very blunt when he was asked how he played 3 Celtics in the 95: 93 game on Friday evening. “I played like $#@,” said Porzingis.

He was not wrong.

In 34 minutes Boston was -16; The Celtics +14 were in 14 minutes with Porzingis on the bench. Now, plus/minus can sometimes be a crazy status that doesn’t always tell the whole story, but in this case.

One of the biggest mistakes made by Joe Mazzulla during the game was to leave KP late instead of leaving Jaylen Brown, who had five fouls.

In the last four minutes of the game, Orlando scored four points, both came on Franz Wagner trips, where he attacked KP isolated.

A pretty shoot on the first of Wagner and just a simple blow past the second. I am not sure if Porzingis has ever seen him. Orlando was appropriate for Porzingis and dealt with it when they needed a basket.

It wasn’t just his defense that was not good. Porzingis’s offensive was terrible in the first three games in the series.

He has to shoot the ball better. In game 1, KP, scored 13%, in game 2 he shot 36%and in game 3 he shot 30%. He still has to make a three pointer in the series.

He looked hesitantly. He had a trip in the fourth quarter that was due to indecisiveness. After the game, he said that he only had to shoot further. “My pictures feel a little junky at the moment,” said Porzingis. “I have to continue to shoot. What else will I do, do you know? I have to continue to shoot.”

I have confidence, porzingis will find his shot. His lack of threesome doesn’t bother me. Sometimes you get cold and shots don’t fall. It happens. This is basketball.

It is the other things that I have problems with, like not being able to take advantage of a non -agreement in the post office. How often was it so often that a KP post against Cole Anthony did not lead to two points? He must be more determined if he makes decisions with basketball. He has to be a better job to help Tatum and Brown with his distance. Some of his post-ups have set their actions in the way. His defense must be better on the circumference.

He was just not himself to start this series.

The defense of Orlando was a factor in it. Jaylen Brown essentially did Name them dirty After the game. “I mean, I don’t know … it could be a fight out or something. It feels like it is not even basketball. The referees don’t check the environment. If you want to combat it, we can do so. We can fight to see who goes in the second round.”

This is not an excuse that Porzingis looks like this. He was not his usual self during most of the series and that has to change.
